At Genpact, we found this formula to calculate our involvement as volunteers: if every employee volunteers for 1 hour / month, then our over 36,000 employees would volunteer 50 years of man hours per year!

Genpact Romania has been an official partner of United Way since 2007. We achieved this through half of our employees who decided to support over 5,000 people in need by payroll donations, by investing their time and by leveraging their skills.

In 2007, Genpact Romania became Bronze partner of United Way after its employees and the company donated over 18,000 EUR. The same year, Genpact Romania won “The Most Creative Campaign” award from United Way at the annual United Way Gala held at Marriott Hotel in February 2008. In 2008, Genpact Romania upgraded its contribution towards the 24 NGOs supported by United Way to over 50,000 EUR / year. This made the company a GOLD Partner of United Way.

Genpact employees became fond of several projects supported by United Way, and thus started to leverage their skills for the improvement of needy people's access to education and information. That happened because we at Genpact like to teach a hungry man to fish, rather than just giving a fish to eat.
